Moved over to a new host

September 4th, 2009 by Luka

FlashExplained.com has finally been moved onto a new hosting server! In the next few days, you can expect a few disruptions here and there until I tweak all the things necessary for the seamless functioning of the website.

However, the good things you can expect now:

Improved service, because the hosting at mediatemple.net is simply awesome. But…

New Flash tutorials!

There, I said it. I will write and post new Flash lessons. My life has drastically changed in the course of the last year and I have been busy…living! And now it’s time to continue working on Flash Explained. Expect new tutorials in the weeks to come.

Best regards and keep on ActionScripting,

New host, new tutorials, new features

April 5th, 2009 by Luka

Hi friends,

It’s been long since I posted anything new. Well, rejoice, for new tutorials are in the works! Also, I’ll be changing the host for flashexplained.com because I need something more powerful to handle my 100K+ monthly visits. So don’t sweat it if the site goes down for 1-2 days. It will be back – faster, better and with new features, too. I am planning to add a download section. It will come in handy, you’ll see why.

So, keep on working in Flash and expect new, fresh tutorials coming your way! Thanks for all the e-mails and cool comments. Sorry if I don’t reply to your comments, but I have way too much work to do to be able to handle these.

See you soon in new tuts,

Luka Maras

  • How to create a motion guide (inside a guide layer),
  • How to make a movieclip follow the motion guide you made,
  • How to make the guided animation more realistic and more.

You will be creating a motion tween animation which will then be linked to a motion guide. You can see the kind of animation you are going to make below.

A brief wait & new Flash CS3 tutorials

November 10th, 2008 by Luka

Hi everyone,

This is a flashexplained.com update: I am currently moving from Africa back to Europe. This being said, I won’t be able to reply to your comments and questions until somewehere after November 15th, once I settle down. I have so much things to do – moving from one continent to another is no small thing.

Also, there will be just one or two more tutorials for Flash 8, and after that, everything will be made freshly for Flash CS3. Expect new tutorials during the second half of November. In the meantime, enjoy the Flash tutorials and keep on learning.
