I've spent two days pulling out my hair trying to get forwards and backwards buttons (right/left) on a horizontal scroll bar. You got it to work!!!

This tutorial is fantastic!!!! Thanks.

Anyone know how I can have another action effect the same movie clip at the same time? ie when I click the Right or Left button on my scroll bar the scroller in the middle moves as well. So far the buttons only work when the code for the scroller is deeactivated...

Any ideas???

Hi Luka. I just want to know how do you animate an astronaut so it comes out from a planet (sort of like a floating effect). Can you please show a tutorial on that.

Great tutorials, best website I used so far.

HI THERE.
THIS TUTORIAL IS AWESOME. THNAK U
BUT I'M HAVING A LITTLE PROBLEM

I USE UR CODE TO MOVE A BIG MOVIECLIP, I'M ONLY MOVING IT ON THE X. I USED THE CODE U PROVIDE TO STOP IT. IT WORKS BUT ONLY ON ONE SIDE OF THE CODE. WHEN THE MOVIECLIP MOVES TO DE RIGHT IT GOES PERFECT. BUT WHEN THE MOVIECLIP IS SUPPOSED TO GO LEFT IT JUST JUMPS TO THE POINT IT'S SUPPOSED TO STOP.
HERE IS THE CODE IF U CAN HELP ME. PLEASE

moveLeft.onPress = function() {
	mapa.onEnterFrame = function() {
 mapa._x += 20;
 if (mapa._x>1440) {
 mapa._x = 1440;
 }
	};
};
moveLeft.onRelease = function() {
	delete mapa.onEnterFrame;
};
moveRight.onPress = function() {
	mapa.onEnterFrame = function() {
 mapa._x -= 20;
 if (mapa._x>-1190) {
 mapa._x = -1190;
 }
	};
};
moveRight.onRelease = function() {
	delete mapa.onEnterFrame;
};

I modified this to make my Flash resume scroll...worked great! Thanks for posting this - it really helped me understand WHY it worked (rather than me just following the instructions)
